ParticipantHi,
My husband has changed the brushes in our above Bosch washer. If he has placed them incorrectly, how will we know? Will the machine be really noisy?I’ve read that new brushes have to bed in but what I’m trying to ask is, will it be obvious if they have’nt been placed back with the angled ends of the carbon bit the right way?
Thanks all I look forward to your replies. I think its ok but there are little quiet scraping noises which are intermittent and machine is fully working and spinning again 😆

It should be very obvious if they are in the wrong way round. It is possible to look at the motor ‘end on’ to determine the correct way to fit them.
Did he use genuine Bosch carbons or pattern spares, some of the pattern ones can be of inferior quality, they are often noisier and usually fail much sooner, often doing other damage at the same time.

Just keep an eye on it for a few washes, if the noise persists or gets worse then I would check the brushes for correct fitting but the noise they make when inserted the wrong way round is pretty loud TBH.

thanks iadom, update for you, noise has gone, but a terrible noise while trying to darin. drained it manually with the little black hose and pump filter full of debris, 2 coins and loads of dog detritus, I have 2 spaniels and wash bedding and towels for them all the time. I;ve cleared the filter and am praying that we don’t need now to replace the pump. I’m going to run it on a quick wash now and see if it drains properly now that I’ve cleared the blockage.
Thankyou so much for your speedy replies It’s amazing that you guys help us for nothing x x x

well filled drum full of water then switched to off. Then selected drain function and all drained away perfectly with no horrible noise. Think we’re all sorted here for now.
Any more problems though and you can be sure I’ll be in touch.Love this forum
Thanks everyoneLind x x
