I am attempting to install a replacement door handle for my Bosch fridge freezer, please see attached photo showing both broken and new handles.

The broken end of the original handle is still inside the plastic fitting in the door face. This fitting appears to be designed to screw into the sheet metal door casing; so far I have been unable to loosed it.

The broken end is loose inside this fitting and can be moved about or gripped with my snipe nose pliers, but so far its unusual shape makes it impossible to extract.

Bosch’s Customer Service department decline to give any advice or information, they clearly want it to be the basis of a visit from their Service Engineer.

I would appreciate any information you can offer.

    Thank you, David Robins

😀 Solved the problem myself, by drilling broken fragment, see attached photo, so that it could be broken into smaller pieces and removed.

I’m glad to see I’m not the only one with this problem. I am also intending to drill the part into smaller pieces (but making sure I don’t drill right through the door!). I am also finding problems fitting the new handle. I don’t want to apply force in case I break it.
