ParticipantHi,
I went to have a look at this Siemens built in dishwasher yesterday. Long story but the guys had a mouse which bit through the waste hose and he’s fit a new one himself. He also said at the same time or maybe just before this he had problems with the machine running the programme but not emptying.I had a look yesterday. This is the new machine with the smooth askoll type pump, not up to speed on these machines yet, but at the start of the programme, to try and drain the remaining water away, the pump just keeps pulsing, hardly enough to get any water up the matrix and actually into the waste hose. It tries this maybe 4/5 times and then times out and the end light comes on again. When the water gets very low in the machine and there not much pressure on the pump it stays on for longer.
If I had a pump I would of tried fitting one and seeing if this was faulty.
There are no blockages in the system or pipes and pump runs free.
I was just wondering if anybody else has had this problem or if somebody could point me in the right direction if its not a pump.
Much appreciated as usual guys.Nick

The pump is controlled by the PCB and it pulses when the pump detects a blockages or something caught around the impellor in an attempt to clear itself. It does this 4/5 times as you have noticed. The pump is a DC motor and the resistance between windings should be 82? give or chuck 8?. If the resistance checks out OK then there’s either something restricting the Impellor, the pump cover plate is not secured, the pump is knackered or maybe the leaky hose mouse incident has buggered up the PCB? 😕

Thanks for your insight on this Martin. The pump cover plate was loose in the bottom and thought that it could have been a problem but did the same when fitted correctly. I’ve got a pump on its way tomorrow and i’ll give it a go. Nothing to loose.
Still dont like these over the old design, but things have to move on.Thanks again
