ParticipantHi Gents
Going to this machine on Monday. Customer tells me the element was changed recently by another firm and the dryer still only gets slightly warm and takes too long to dry, even one or two items. I have looked at the element on line and see it comes with a stat and an ntc so I’m assuming they are going to be ok as new. Any pointers where to look would be much appreciated! I don’t see too many of these dryers. Thanks.December 7, 2012 at 4:27 pm #385999Martin

Elements on these rarely fail so I smell a rat here. 👿
Check all the usual : –
Pump/Float
Condenser drainage channels
Airflow through both fans
Front NTC
Etc…….December 7, 2012 at 4:34 pm #386000jason1970

I agree Martin! Any idea of the resistance across the two NTC? Cheers

Well, the element had been changed and was getting warm but nowhere near the correct operation temperature. Airflow was good, no blockages in the tank or near the pump and the pump and float switch were working correctly. Both NTC were good (thanks Martin) so I turned to the module and sure enough (thanks eastlmark) dry joint on the heater relay. I soldered this but still the same fault. 240V seemed to be getting to half the element but it never got more than slightly warm. I have priced the module (£184.00 retail from Bosch) but with the £150 plus the cust has already paid for the element it’ll be a non starter. Thanks for the pointers guys but this one got away!
