After visiting which and searching for prices, I quite like the BOSCH WTL 6307 which I have found for sale @ £236

But I cannot determine if the only option I have is to empty the water from the tray ?

I’d rather connect it to the waste water pipe.

Also the same question for AEG and Zanusi if anyone knows..

All condensor dryers drain the water into a reservoir within the machine. Most take the form of a large slide in container that can easily be emptied down the sink. Many have a warning light to tell you it needs emptying. 😉

But none have a drain pump waste system like a washing machine has, no point as there is little water to deal with anyway 🙂

I beg to differ Martin…any condensor dryers that have the condensate tank at the top ( I have seen a few) do in fact have a pump to get the water there, and usually have the feed pipe from the pump expeosed at the back so it can be run into a drain instead. As to which makes/models are available new at the moment I can’t advise i’m afraid…I only see them when they’ve broken down 😉

    Thanks Clive,

Thats what I thought, however without holding the manual it seems there is no way to identify ones which do/don’t

UNLESS they all do of course ?

If anyone has access to these via PDF (I did notice the note on the forum for requesting manuals, but the BOSCH one I need to place an order for !)

I have the Bosch brochure here so this will help I hope:

WTL models – 5808/6307 and 6106 – you can buy an optional drain out kit, although it doesn’t list the part number for some reason, it will be in the user manual no doubt.

WTL6003 though has the kit already fitted and has no water container at all, it only empties via a washing machine waste or similar.

Well blow me down! Even an old codger like me realises those reservoirs on dryers located at the top do have a pump to get the water there. But I didn’t realise many have an optional drain out kit as well 😳

But IMHO what an expenses, total fag and waste of time fitting one would be anyhow in many instances. For a start one would have to set it up close to a waste pipe anyway :con:

    Hi Martin

Yes fitting a drain would be pointless but many dryers stand next to a washing machine of course (which has a drain), and the drain pipe from the dryer is usually a small diameter affair which can fit in alongside the washer drain hose 😉
…and no to-ing and fro-ing to the sink with plastic containers full of water! 🙂
………..and no bashing of walls to put vent kits in either 😆

Freestyle, try the Gorenje one, its a good quality product and has got that pipe at the back. and yes, most driers do stand next to the washing machine and the pipe can easily be squeezed down a stand pipe along with the washing machines one. (ok maybe not with a Miele)
Not so easy on a direct sink drain fitting though.

Thanks for everyone who has replied.. especially DAVE

I was specially looking at the WTL 6307 because it has a sensor. Now I don’t know how good these sensors are…. but WHiCH? says they are great.

Beside being a lazy single bloke I will always forget to turn it off.

Second point of note is that at least I see I can order spare via BOSCHAPPLICANCES.CO.UK so that will be ok for the optional extra….

In relation the the last post about the “Gorenje” well I’ve never heard of it. But willing to look if it has a SENSOR….

From memory I could only find Siemens, Bosch and MIELE who have sensors….

Sorry I never touch indesit, hover, candy…..

    Hi Freestyle

I am also interested in the BOSCH WTL 6307. Have you bought one? If so, I would like to know please which supplier you used and what was the price. £236 seems rather low. £365 is the cheapest price I have seen.

    Thanks

    David
