    Help please!!
I have a slimline dishwasher that is brand new, but had been sitting in someones garage for 3 years. I installed it did first wash OK. Then no more. I think that the filler valve may be stopping the water flow in. I know there’s enough pressure as I’ve swapped the inlet filler from the Washing Machine.
The dishwasher starts humming, but no water flow and then after about 2 minutes it all stops
I’m imagining that because it has been sitting doing nothing in someone’s garage it’s just seized up. I’m pretty handy, I have removed all side panels, top etc.
    Advice would be welcomed.
    Model is HAUS WQP8-9249G

Humming is most likely drain pump rather than fill. Every cycle will drain for a min or 2 before filling begins. Does it have any water in the bottom? Did you remove the blank off from your sink waste?

    Re: Haus dishwasher won’t fill

Thank you for your response and information. The sink waste is clear as there was water sitting in it, from the first successful wash. There is no water in the bottom.
    I noticed this last night:
when you start a wash cycle, it will hum for about a minute or two and then it stops. It will stay like this for around 3-5 minutes and the it will bleep and the 3in1 light will start flashing.

So, based on what you have said, it is going through the normal process. by going through the drain process and then presumably after that it should start to fill.

As a newbie I’m not sure how this forum works, but do I assume that as I have only one reply that no one else can add to any of the questions and the one comment? Just wondering if this is something no one knows anything about.

    Re: Haus dishwasher won’t fill

If someone can answer they usually will.

Most all dishwashers will fill after clearing the sump. So, pump runs and then it will try to fill.

However, information on Haus dishwashers or anything else for that matter, is very limited as per this article:

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/abou … ances.html

So the amount of help you can get depends on how many engineers ever see one or know what it is. And, given that there is no servicing or technical information freely available it’s going to limit what many of us can offer in the way of any help.

It could be a Vestel, could be some Chinese thing… we don’t know and (most of us) have no way to find out.

Then, if you need a part, we’ve no way to get it or do we even know where that you could get a part.

it is a cheap, budget appliance, a lot of the more discerning members of the trade will not go anywhere near them. 😉

Thank you both site Admin and Moderator. Now I understand. This is in an annexe that I let and it looks like it was a poor buy!

I’m going to try Argos to see where I can buy spare parts.

If anyone has any tips, that would be welcome. i.e is it likely to be a filler valve?

I know nothing about Haus dishwashers but reading the comments so far I’m thinking that perhaps the base of the machine is now flooded? That would explain why it will no longer fill but just drain. Unplug the machine first then tip it backwards (not front or sideways, just backwards) to see if any water comes out? If it does, that’s your problem.

3 years storage in a garage may likely imply it was also subjected to below freezing temperatures during that time, which can and will damage components such as inlet water valves, main circulating pumps and such like. Overall the synopsis is not looking good in your favour overall.:(

    Re: Haus dishwasher won’t fill

Thanks Martin, it’s not flooded because I have tilted it on it’s back and front, whilst removing various panels. There was a bit of water, but just water that was in the hose.
OK one thought here, can I put a testmeter across the two terminals on filler solenoid, I’m no expert but I keep going back towards the filler solenoid.
Anyway, i’m now on desperate measures, before scrapping what looks like on the outside and inside a totally new machine.

I’m assuming you refer to LIVE testing? If so NO, don’t go there. Instead (with power disconnected) disconnect the wires to it and then with a multimeter check the coil for resistance by all means.

By the way, on the 3 yr storage issue once more….was it stored in a dry, above freezing garage or not? That is an important point in cases like this all the while.

    Re: Haus dishwasher won’t fill

    Hi Martin,
Thanks for the advice, No, I wasn’t referring to a Live test. Re the 3 year storage, judging by the machine (and I have gone over it intimately) it was completely clean and brand new. It was clearly stored in a clean and dry place and the various accessories were inside, just like it had been bought from new. Having taken all sides off I can see just how new it is and it’s only been in action possibly just the once.
I do have one question, next to the salt container there is another semi transparent container, that is possibly connected to the salt container, about 4-5 inches diameter. It appears full of liquid and it’s dark brown in colour – any clues? I could take a photo.

The brown container is the ‘Ion Exchanger” full of silicone crystals, an integral part of the water softening system.

Thanks. I just noticed that Argos now sell exactly the same product, with the same code under the brand of ProAction. Not sure what it tells me other than the fact that parts must be available – somewhere!!

    Re: Haus dishwasher won’t fill

Haus and ProAction are brand names owned by Argos, so it is the same unit.

The item is produced by MIDEA, a Chinese Producer.

The water valve is not a common failure for this unit, however the control PCB on this unit is notorious for failing and causing all sorts of problems.

Argos DO NOT sell parts for out of warranty product, primarily because they want you to buy a new product.

They have a PCB in stock at £110.00 at the moment, which is 75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the cost of a new one.

Best advice would be to bin it and replace it.

    Hi Jackal,
Thank you and you have provided the most compelling reason to stop wasting my time on this piece of Argos Junk and thanks to everyone else who contributed – all with the same conclusion.
