    Hi
    I have a Bosch dishwasher that is playing up.
    For the past few weeks, every once in a while it stops draining. I thought it was the pump but I can hear it whirring and after adding caustic soda the blockage disappears and the pump drains.
    So at first I thougth it must be a grease blockage but it has happened 3 or 4 times over the past few weeks.

    I have checked the pipe where it attached to the sink and it seems clear.

    Any thoughts?

    Yes NEVER EVER USE CAUSTIC SODA……!!!

    Beyond that do please give us the full Enr number (model no) of your machine as there are hundreds of variants. Meanwhile, have you checked the pump Impellor/ pump chamber for possible restrictions?

    Ooops. Wont do again.
    Bosch Exxcel 1400.
    It is now draining ok. Have checked the pump Impellor/ pump chamber. All clear.
    But what might causing it?

    Apologies, thought it was a Bosch Exxcel 1400 but that is my washing machine.
    I am away for couple of days. Will check when I am back home.
