I have already had this “fixed” twice by Baumatic and now it’s happening again on two of my burners. The burner lights, but when I stop pushing in on the knob, it goes out again. I would guess that it’s something wrong with the gas safety heat sensor, but when the Baumatic guy “fixed” it the last time, he just turned a screw (?) at the back of the cooker. (The first guy who came said there was nothing wrong with it and that it was normal to have to hold your knob in for 5 minutes to light it!)
The cooker is now just out of warranty and I don’t have the energy to fight with Baumatic. (I am an architect and specify cookers all day and will just never specify another baumatic product ever again.)

Does anyone have a suggestion on what I can do, or want to come and fix it for me? I’d rather pay anyone but baumatic.

It sounds to me as if at least two of the thermocouples have gone as you suggested.

You will need a Corgi registered engineer to rectify this for you, if you pop your potcode up someone here should be able to assist.

In the meantime, you are, in my opinion entitled to a free of charge visit from Baumatic as the fault which was reported within the guarantee period has persisited and is not rectified, but if you don’t want to fight them that is of course your choice.

Thanks. I did have a bit of a go at Baumatic in the end, but as usual the person “in charge” wasn’t around. I’m in W3 if there’s a corgi person nearby who can help. Thanks.

As Dave said prob faulty thermocouples or poor earth on the thermocouples, or burner port nearest t/couple blocked thus no flame touching it. Sometime tap can be at fault, either way its a Corgi call Im afraid.
