    Hi guys,

I have a Hotpoint WML540 that has just developed a fault. It is over 2 years old and worked fine until recently.

It got half way through a regular 40 degree cycle, made some funny noises and stopped. I turned it off and then on again, pressed the cycle start button and now the door lock clicks 6 times and the red door lock light flashes faster than usual and it won’t go any further.

I replaced the door lock which was easy enough, plugged it in and it worked fine, then halfway through the cycle the Mrs noticed it was making a funny noise, pipes struggling with the water and the spin sounding erratic.

    Is this a PCB problem?

Help me save some money and earn huge man points with the Mrs, please?

    Kindest

    Tony

I would unplug and check the motor brushes first, has the machine been heavily used? A WML540 is likely to be more than 2 years old BTW, also keep the old doorlock, chances are it is not faulty. 😉
