ParticipantHi all,
I’ve got a Whirlpool S20 American fridge freezer that keeps freezing the contents of the fridge. Over the years we’ve had new PCBs front and back, new modified ducting, new flap motor, and more besides, all of which have alleviated the problem for a while, but eventually it goes back to freezing my milk and mushrooms.
It started doing it again just before Xmas, and I managed to get it working properly again by thoroughly cleaning out the dust from underneath. But just 10 days later I have yet again awoken to solid tomatoes and crunchy juice. So I’m scouting around for a replacement, that won’t freeze my stuff!
Ones that have caught my eye so far (I’m avoiding Samsung, LG Daewoo and Whirlpool due to the seeming lack of reliability of the brands) are:
Maytag MSS20FBBI4 £1099
Bosch KAN58A55GB £1040
CDA PC66BL £1050
Caple CAFF205BK £992Any of these good/bad/best avoided?
Am I being too harsh on the Korean brands? Some of the Samsungs come with a 5 year warranty which is quit appealing.Don’t

Difficult decision, i would have a Bosch, Neff or Siemens purely for the soares back up, but most of the above are eithe made by daewoo in Korea or China. Maytag will probably be a Whirlpool dressed up as they own them, only trur american fridge freezer is the GE, but can be pricy.

They do side by side separates that are better quality than any of the above. 😉

Unfortunatley 121cm wide instead of 90cm.

Both too pricy unfortunatelyLiebherr nor miele do an american side by side fridge freezer
Don’t Liebherr do the 6352 Premium side-by-side? or doesn’t it qualify for some reason?Looks like the Bosch is the favourite so far.

Some bosch are made in china and some made by daewoo in korea. The liebherr model you mention is an old model and 121cm wide. If you can fit any of the liebherr food centres in then a model to look at is SBSes7263, it has an ice machine, frost free, and bio fresh in the fridge, my top selling midel at the moment, £ 2500 delivered!
