    Hi,

We have a Hotpoint WD440P (serial no. 708230715) that is merrily completing all cycles with no error lights; but is not heating up at all for either washing or drying. Is this likely to be as simple as a new element or something more complicated?

    Thanks,

    Dan

They are different elements for wash and dry heating. Unlikely both will fail Are you 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} was is not heating ?

Thanks, I’ll have to check this evening – its definitely not drying but the wash not heating is based on reports from my wife…

Right that took longer than anticipated to get round to checking. I’m fairly confident that the wash is heating OK so it is just the dryer that isn’t heating up… so back to my original question… is that likely to just be an element? Is it a straightforward replacement? And if so could you point me towards the correct part to order?

    Thanks,

    Dan

Could be an element, thermostat or thermal fuse depends on which type of heater box is fitted.
