Just searched through 52 pages of info re these things. I’m about to slit my wrists.

Went to a side by side wpool 20rb-d3sf. 858641115820. Blank display, nothing working except water and light. Checks a few things, all seems to test ok.
Orders rear pcb from uk whitegoods.
Left it unplugged, suggests to cust to try again next day, which she did and it started to work, albeit with display quickly flickering.Water and ice ok.
Back today with rear pcb.(original 461950281721, new 461950294422b) seemed the same, but 1 extra relay.
Fitted pcb, blank display, goes into defrost. BUT,water inlet valve open and floods inside of freezer.
Unplugs plug to valve/cooling fan etc. When defrost period finishes, compressor kicks in, display appears, but still flickering as before.
Replaces old pcb, defrost, then comp kicks in. Valve ok.

Do I need to replace modules on this one as a pair? cant find details of when they could be replaced separately.
OR.. has anybody come across this fault.

According to wpools tech info which I have, blank display = rear board.

Cust ok with cost of 1 board so never tried to replace caps. Dont really want to order more expensive front board unless I’m sure it needs it.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Re: dreaded whirlpool ff pcb problem

You need to send both boards off to John Brodderick (Broddersbaldrick on the forums)
He can repair and re program any of the boards with the latest software so both boards will match.

He has done lots for me and never I Have never had a fail.

Send the dud one too for next time you need one.

Nice trade price and 12 month warranty.

    Pm me for contact details.

    Steve.
