ParticipantDelivered a new bosch integ dw before xmas ,now customer is complaining that the pots are wet when they return from work ,she contacted bosch who told her that all new energy efficient machines now do this and you have to unload them within half hour of it finishing if she wants dry pots 😯 hardly helpful they are saying it isnt faulty and if an engineer is called and they find no fault they will charge £89 ,customer has been back on to me demanding a change as we sold it her on our recommendation and it is not fit for purpose ,she rang yesterday asking for a siemans like she used to have :rolls: .The question i have is the info from bosch correct or is just flannel thoughts guys please Cras ps she uses rinse aid ,salt ,three in one tablets

The ‘Intensive Drying’ option needs to be selected in circumstances where the machine is left unattended for hours before unloading. Also the use of Rinse Aid is essential to ensure the dishes drain off quickly during the drying process. Salt must be used of course in hard water areas.
You mentioned “pots” not drying, what sort of pots would that be?
Overall the drying should be pretty good on all but the Eco and Quick wash programmes. Bosch’s crap talk about the new models not drying due to their design is precisely that…….crap,

I would guess that your customer isnt using a seperate rinse aid and the pots are not at an angle to allow the water the sheen off.

Thanks for the replies ,she is definitely using rinse aid and three in one tablets ,bosch told her that it is condensation and to empty it within half hour of it finishing and in fairness when she does this the pots are dry ,the problem is they are business people working long hours and this is just not practical ,wondering if any bosch engineer or somebody that sells a lot of the modern bosch dw has come across this problem ,we have tried extending the dry time without success Thanks Cras

I sell a lot of bosch dishwashers and it isn’t a problem that any customer has told about.

Condensation showing on the tub lining after being left for hours is commonplace and Bosch are correct on that one. But, that should not affect the crockery or cutlery. So knowing rinse aid is used (you didn’t mention if salt was?) and tablets are used there is just one possible reason and this affects integrated machines only………..ambient cold. If its location is in a cold/cool area, against a cold outside wall and on solid flooring that cold air affects the back wall and top of the dishwasher and the vacant spaces under kitchen furniture act as a cold corridor for draughts. The net effect is an even greater degree of condensation as the contents of the machine cool more rapidly.
Time for them to organise their dishwashing habits and put the machine on overnight emptying it the moment they rise!

according to bosch helpline they should not leave it on overnight or while they are away from the property either :rolls: , not much point in putting a time delay on it then ,mind you having seen a few bosch fires he probably airing on the side of caution 😆 . The dishwasher is on an outside wall and that was a thought i had considered ,but you know what the response will be if i mention that ” my old one never did that ” however i am tommorow swapping it with a quality Hotpoint 🙂

It was tongue in cheek on my part ,they have a hotpoint at there cottage in cornwall and that dries the pots ok apparently ,so they asked me if i would change it for a hotpoint i told them that it wouldnt be my choice but if that would make them happy i would oblige its now off my back and they phoned today to say the Hotpoint is much better :rolls: customers eh 😆

That is great news indeed and a customer well happy and most importantly, off your back! (It would be interesting to know what the Bosch problem was and why Hotpoint didn’t have that condensation problem though?).
Also, time for us to stand back and congratulate you Cras for going to all that trouble…boy oh boy!…….delivering and installing an integrated then taking it back and doing it all over again…..must have cost you dearly….respect for you customer service that’s for darn sure…….! 😀

It is an odd one this. You would have thought the Bosch would use the same hot rinse with residual heat drying, the only thing I can think of is if the tank was not coated in bitumen to keep the heat in the tank the steam would condensate on the inside of the cold tank.
Edit: thinking about it it could be the other way around, perhaps the tank is more insulated, this would mean it would use less energy in wash as the loss of heat would be reduced and this would mean that tank would not cool as much and the water would not condensate on it causing it to condensate on the entire load rather than the tank.
