    hi ive a hotpoint wml 540 have just replaced the pump because my machine made a horrible grating noise–grit in the impeller.machine still did not work so checked pump for resistance with a meter–none so have just replaced the pump. the machine started to fill with water so i went back to work,by the time i got there ( a5 minute journey the machine had stopped again.
    when my wife tried prog 4 or 13 it started to fill then stopped .
    prog C it drains and finishes but only if turned off for a while so machine is reseting itself–or trying too.
    on prog A get 2 spurtsof water and then stops as does prog B

    im assuming its dead–the pcb/control board which is a new machine as its not worth the money to fix it
    any advice/help would be appreciated

    Hard to say exactly, did you lie the machine down or just tilt it back to fit the pump?

    It’s possible the faulty pump has damaged the main pcb or you may have dislodged something or got water into the electronics.
