ParticipantHi there,
Having doing much searching on the internet I came across this forum. Basically our three year old Indesit WIB111 washing machine has started playing up.
If it’s on a wash cycle it will stop just before the spin cycle. The ‘locked’ symbol LED is flashing rapidly along with the ‘Rapid Wash’ LED which flashes a little slower. There isn’t a pause to the flashing which could indicate a fault code, there is just continuous flashing of both LED’s :rolls:
I then have to put it onto a spin cycle manually to finish the wash because the clothes are dripping wet.
I removed the lower pipe from the machine today with the oko ball in it, checked the pump and outlet pipes, all are clear. The water level/pressure bleed pipe is clear and the sensor at the top of the makes a clicking noise when I blow on the port.
I had a look at the main PCB at the back of the machine and can see no signs of corrosion on the terminal connections.
The functions of the machine seem to be fine, it’s just this stopping during a full wash cycle that’s driving me mad 👿 😡
Any ideas what it could be guys?
Many thanks in advance

It is an error code, ignore the mains light flashing rapidly and give us the slowly flashing light by number from left to right or top to bottom.

Oh right, well in that case, there’s only two LED lights apart from the door locked symbol.
Starting from the left, the anti crease LED was off and the rapid wash was flashing.

Hi: Think Iadom meant to count from the left so he can get the error code, so for example if there are 5 lights what numbers are flashing ?

From the left, the second LED (rapid wash) was flashing

A bit of a sneaky one this, it only has two option buttons across the top but has two hidden led’s to the left of the two buttons that can flash ‘through’ the facia, so your flashing light is No: 4. Sadly this is F01 and means a faulty motor triac, could be brushes or bad connections but more likely to be faulty main pcb or motor. 😥

Oh great :rolls: Thanks for the advice 😉
Is there any way I can test the motor apart from making sure the connections are good? What does triac mean? If the main PCB is at fault, can I just change it or will I need a technician to do it?

The triac is a component on the main pcb, the pcb is around £100 and needs programming, either by an Indesit engineer or by using a £20 smart card and a £100 card reader. :rolls:
Indesit may do the repair for a fixed labour charge of around £120 but will also try to stitch you up with a 12 month contract, so you end up paying £180. 😥
You can check the motor and the motor brushes but worn brushes should give a different fault such as the door not locking correctly etc.

Ok thanks for the info, I’ll have a word with our local repair shop, if they say the same, the Indesit will be going in the skip. I’m sure we only paid something like £225 for it and that was to replace a Zanussi that was at least TEN years old, but the motor went pop!
I thought we’d have got more than 3years out of it. It honestly looks new internally. Buy cheap, buy twice I suppose :rolls:

A little bit of an update to this, we have used it twice now since Sunday and it seems to be behaving which leads me to think it’s the main PCB. I’m certainly not calling out Indesit to it.

If it does it again then check and tighten all connections between motor and main pcb, with the mains plug removed of course. 😉

Have you checked the brushes as this will also give F01.

Many thanks to you both for the advice. I’m familiar with industrial electrical equipment so I’ll be checking the connections with it isolated! 😉
With regards to the code reading, do you have a ‘how to’ for my machine? I had a look in the help an advice section on here but it seems to contradict code F01 coming from the fourth LED lit. That makes it F08 or am I reading the wrong type of guide in the link below?

Edit, found another guide which makes more sense lol.

That flashing LED would indicate F17 too then. Door lock

Hi guys. Just an update to this, after taking the above mentioned off, stripping and cleaning all the pipework and putting dishwasher tablets through it on a hot wash, it corrected itself.
It could be that I knocked a connector or something like, who knows??? I was all for scrapping it and it just started working again.
