a built in 1-1/2 oven U1161N1GB with FD of 8206 ie came out of the factory in june 2002.
the left hand control for the main oven,480494, is no longer available.i presume the light bulb shorted shorted and damaged the pcb on its way. Yes, the customer did have a 32A mcb fitted It did trip this out.
This was an expensive model and the owner had it installed nov 2002.
There are a few reasons why i am writing this post but enough for now to state how environmentally wasteful this is. This oven is in good condition , apart from this fault.
I have advised the customer to write to BSH but he going to buy another oven. something cheap that he can throw away when it breaks down.Re: neff oven spare not available

Yes, i know it comes up as being available but when you try ordering it it tells you that its no longer available.

Why not have the PCB repaired ?
It’ll be cheaper than a new PCB.

this happens often with BSH orders, lets you quote the customer and basket it but the order is rejected once you try and confirm it (also not letting you order anything else on the same order until it is manually removed.) Am surpised this part has gone though.Re: neff oven spare not available

But that’s the trick though isn’t it Mark, with BSH’s ‘Quickfinder’, to ‘tick’ the box “Display Availibility” once you’ve added the item to your basket. Just to ensure the part is still available prior to quoting your customer. If not then you know, your customer knows and you can delete the item from your basket.
Back on topic….I ‘m still trying to find a U1161N1GB And where kevinlewis got the part number in the first place?

its a U1661N1GB/09. I will look for the display availability next time i’m on there. thanks for the tip.

I dont think that I can change /edit the incorrect model number from the first post. It seem that you can only edit post that are only a few hours old.
this issue of discontinuing the supplying of spares, especially on supposedly quality brands, needs addressing.

I couldn’t agree more especially as Neff usually have stock available for up to 15-16 yrs as a rule if not longer. The problem here though is the part is made for them by an outside supplier and that is the problem. They either aren’t around any more or cannot afford to retool up to replenish exhausted stocks.
Funnily enough ‘spares4appliances’ via Amazon claim to have 6 in stock……..mind you they are flogging them for £250 each……!!!

Can you keep it yourself and repair it ?
Turnaround is normally within 7 days and it keeps the unit in the field
