    hi i have a zanussi aquacycle zwf1421w today it started bleeping and stopped mid cycle with washing in still full ,so i drained filter then it seemed to work but after mopping up put it on again to spin and just humming sound coming from it ive tried draining it by dial but again nothing happens ,it seems to work if i drain water out myself but just keeps washing wont seem to spin or drain water am i looking at new pump ? 😥

    I would think so, it’s all pointing to that from what you tell us….why not take a closer look at it?

    how? im a women rubbish at diy lol and its full of water 🙁

    Choice one is to risk more floods by removing the filter once more. But this time check that the pump Impellor behind the filter is free to rotate. Something could be stuck in the blades stopping it rotating…hence the humming noise!

    Choice two is to give your local independent engineer in to sort it. Find one in our engineer search area. 😀

    either way think im gonna get flooded martin lol
    if the blades dont rotate does that mean something stuck ?

    Yes something stuck in it will be visible, though torchlight might help. The 4 bladed Impellor must be free to rotate.

    BINGO! there was a little piece of mangled sock stuck on it so got that out and filled it up and drained and spun a couple of times seems ok at moment touch wood . thankyou very much saved me a price of a new washing machine 🙂
