Have tried the search facility without much luck on this so here goes…

I have a DF61 that is not emptying after the wash cycle. The exit hose is not blocked as water`comes`out when lowered beneath the machine; I’ve checked the metal filters at the base of the wash compartment and removed the pump cover plate. All clear.
The accessible impeller beneath the plate can be turned either direction, there appear to be no teeth missing and I can find no blockage on the exhaust side of the drain compartment. More tellingly there is a 3-4 Hz clicking noise from the pump area at the end of the cycle, so I’m pretty sure that the pump is either jammed or defective. My questions are whether it’s a simple DIY job to replace the pump; where can I get a copy of the service manual to help in the job and are there any other cheaper sources of the pump rather than theservicecentre.co.uk that quote £75 for the part – that would be £150 fitted by an engineer and hardly worth it for a 5 yr old cheapy dishwasher?
Many thanks in advance for any advice.

Look ever more closely at the pump impellor, drain off all the water so you have a clear view of it. It should easily rotate in either direction with light finger pressure. (It’s a permanent magnet motor so you will feel the magnetic resistance but thats all)

Having establish that as clear and free wheeling, then take the end of the drain hose and give it a blow 8) It should be clear and easy to do so, if not, theres a blockage from one to the other.

Replacing the pump is tricky and I would recommend you call us in to check it out. If you wish to go the DIY route we cannot advise you further except to say we can sell you a pump much cheaper than Hotpoint charge via our own “shop@”

We have same problem and have checked the drainage in the front panel.

Now seems to be working OK but cannot get the “two plastic things” positioned correctly to replace the front cover thus allowing the door to open fully. Please could you advise.
