    Hi!

    just joined this forum.

Recently took delivery of Hotpoint Aquarius FDAL28P dishwasher. Ran short programme, no probs. then full programme; completed but then on/off + wash lights flashing; also sounds like pump still working, even with door open.

Engineer called out, claimed to look at computer & get reason as water still in machine? This fault not listed in handbook. Run ok for several washes but now fault has reappeared

    Any suggestions?

    Regards.

Are the lights flashing towards the end of the cycle ? Also was there water left in the base ?

If so check the drain hose is not crimped or jammed preventing it draining within the time limit.

If I’m honest its not often you see brand new machines even the Italian ones with issues and those that do are 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time installation problems.

Thought I would up date you; engineer returned and arranged uplift & exchange of the unit. I can determine that the problem was that the water wasn’t draining away before the end of the cycle & a float sensor was sending the error lights. This was confirmed by engineer as NOT an installation problem but a component fault in the machine – so there you are!

Sounds as if that’s 2 different problems as the float switch is in the base and that would indicate an internal water leak, did you get any water leaking on the floor ? most likely the drain hose as its only pushed in under tension the water not draining is something completely different.

It’s a shame we did not know what error code was being displayed.

I don’t see why it was not repaired rather than exchanged as those models are very easy to repair and the common parts are van stock.
