    Hi All,

    I hope somebody might be able to help me resolve a problem with my Indesit washing machine problem. The machine had been turned off on the wall. When I turned it back on, there appeared to be no problem with the machine. I put in a load of washing, and it washed fine.
    I turned the program selector knob to the spin cycle to get the clothes as dry as possible before taking the clothes out and pressed the on button.
    The door locked and the machine then went into another wash cycle and washed the clothes again. I tried to hold in the on/off button to get the program to cancel and it wouldn’t.
    I turned the machine off on the wall, waited a few minutes and turned it back on again and the machine was still in the middle of the wash cycle again.
    In the end I let it wash the clothes again and then removed the clothes.

    When the machine was empty, and the wash cycle had finished, the red ‘door lock’ light was still flashing and stayed flashing. Out of curiosity I turned the program selector knob to the off position and pressed the On/Off button again, and it started a new wash cycle.

    It’s not a problem that the program selector knob isn’t turning correctly, it seems to be turning fine. But it seems that the programs on the dial aren’t matching up to the programs that the washing machine starts.

    Any suggestions on how to “reset” the washing machine? Or has anybody seen the same problem? Or is my washing machine just possessed?? :S

    Give us the model number of your machine Rose as there’s 1000’s of the darn things out in the wild. (Label usually inside the door or above door seal)

    Iv seen this before and it was the top display card, it would only select the program that it was set to when it was first turned on, try something for me, turn it off at the wall and select spin only, turn back on and start it, does it do that program, now do the same thing again but select rinse instead and does it work ?

    Also first check is the control knob clicking as it turns as this is also very common failure.
