Had a call to look at this washer dryer, fault is that there is smoke inside drum and noisy on spin.
I went to have a look and could see a rub mark in the bottom of the door seal so I was thinking broken spider.
I have now pulled the machine apart and the spider is still in one piece.
It was full of the normal gunk so I cleaned it up but the only fault I can see with it is the fins around the shaft have started to break up. With these fins broken could it give the same symptons as a broken spider?

Too right mate, looking at that photo that shaft is ready to sheer straight off the spider in spectacular fashion….! :shocked:

Thanks Martin, I will order a new one. They are £57+ Vat from connect so wanted to make sure first.

What is the model number Ray.. as it may be a lot cheaper from Qualtex or Masterpart

Its a V5340XOGB. Masterpart list it at £58.00+vat to me.
I don’t deal with Qualtex but it looks like its just going to be an expensive one.

Yes its 878411321 from the Masterpart site, lists it as a smeg part.
