Hello Everyone,
I have a 2.5 year old Zanussi Frost Free Fridge Freezer.Over the last month or so the freezer unit has started to leak water onto the floor at both sides of the door. When I open the door, there is an ice buildup under the bottom tray and on the inside of the door. Further more when I quickly move the door backwards and forwards, water spills out from the bottom seal on the door. I have tried defrosting the freezer manually but that did not solve the problem.
Can anyone suggest what may be causing the issue and what steps that I can take to resolve it? Or do you think a repairman should be called or that it may even be cost effective to scrap it?

The water from the ice, as this appliance de- frosts is supposed to run down a gutter and drainage hole onto the compressor where it should evaporate. This gutter and hole is hidden from view behind the back cover of the inside of the freezer (unlike the one you may have in the fridge). This drainage hole has its own heater to prevent it from freezing up and I suspect there is a problem with this or the defrost/no frost control. Either way its a tricky one to fault find, even for us lot. call a pro.

Almost certainly a defrost problem you have there Ben.
Frost free units periodically defrost themselves to remove any ice build up, yours evidently isn’t causing the ice flow you describe.
Not a DIY job to be honest, also generally not a major repair either.
