ParticipantHad an email the other day relating to my Linkedin profile;
Hi Steve,
I’m looking to connect with Appliance / White Goods Engineers throughout the UK, to discuss the industry and future job opportunities.
I have a group set up named Appliance / White Goods Engineers, which you are welcome to join.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Mike
Email headed Mike Dangerfield……anyone heard of him in the trade?
Steve.

Same old thing as in the past, they promise you the world in the adverts
But donโt have in this case the back up of white goods engineers to fulfil
The uptake, the future of the industry is not to have one big player
Dishing out your daily bread! At sh1t rates, which then pulls the rug from under your feet?
When they have had their use of you!
Just build up your own high quality local company that dose not rely on hand outs from bigger players, then the future will be in your handscanufixit

I thought I smelt something sinister…….and thanks for the warning. I have not replied as I am fully booked every week 3 days ahead solely from my own phone and don’t really need any more work – especially from the likes of British Gas. Why don’t they start doing what their name says and getting that right first before trying to spread into other trades. And if they didn’t advertise as much, my bl00dy bills might start coming down as well. ๐

Well…
BG didn’t pay for their rather large stand at last year’s meeting.
Repeatedly try to post job offers, which are now promptly deleted upon sight, without so much as a by-your-leave or any offer of payment for the adverts.
So, pretty much, in my book that sorta shows the animal that you’re dealing with.
Sorry BG but you can only burn a bridge so many times.

its a shame really , i thought they were trying to mend bridges from the last debacle they created with the indies ..
when i worked with scot gas i was privileged if thats the right word into some of the inner workings- mindset of brit gas and the mothership centrica –
it quickly became obvious that the esd electrical division was on a tight leash controlled by a predominantly gas orientated organisation who didnt really understand appliance industry..
this didnt help when they bought ageing co,s to try and gain a foot hold in the appliance sector , buying there way in also bought old school thinking and a huge wage bill of people who would have been fired /paid of in any other walk of life . dinosaurs with a nice pension fund
so it doesnt surprise me when i hear of the smoke – mirrors and spin they bumble out from time to time
what we have seen so far is puppets controlled by a gas dominated industry -and thats all there will be as they see the appliance industry/ indies as small change and something they cant manipulate or make money from //

I hope the WTA are chasing them for it!
