Hi,
Think I originally posted this in the wrong forum.
I have a Diplomat AD8132 which now no longer finishes its full cycle. The pump continues to pulse throughout the drying cycle and I assume that this is due to a faulty water level sensor. The machine has no water in it other than a small amount below the filter.
Would be grateful if anyone has advice or have an exploded diagram of this somewhat troublesome piece of kit?

The pump runs based on time on a drain generally, not on the basis of the water in the machine. Pressure switches are pretty stupid devices that only record the water level at on to four (normally) levels dependent on the appliance and number of programmes, the appliance being empty is usually not sensed at all. So that does not indicate a level switch fault although it couldn’t be ruled out.
Running on the dry cycle could indicate a plethora of problems and there’s no easy answer to that one I’m afraid.
When you say the machine isn’t finishing the cycle what symptoms are you actually getting?
As for diagrams etc., their not really available as such and, even if they were, they’d be of little use. IIRC, on that model the diagrams are pretty grim.

The machine pumps out at the end of the washing cycle, but throughout the drying cycle continues to pump. The pulsing sound I have decided is due to the pump being dry. Opening the door the indicator light is steady. This means that the cycle is complete. Close the door and the pump starts immediately followed by the beep beep. I think the pump will continue to run on until powered off.
Could it be due to a partially sticking aquastop float? If this is the first place to look where do I look next?

Pretty odd problem Adrian and it is pointing towards a duff timer but it could be other things obviously, but I would not have gone for the float at all.

I am guessing that the timer is solid state. If that is the case what other mech parts are involved?

Yeah the timer is. There’s little else mechanical, but you can’t really rule anything out when you get an odball fault.

I have been thinking about this problem. The machine cannot simply time water in and water out. There must be a water level switch that trips the valve to close and the pump to switch off. Can anyone please confirm this and indicate a suitable part.
I cannot believe that a timer / controller is at fault.

It uses the pressure switch to fill, when it hits level then the water stops coming in.
For drain it’s timed. And just for your interest there’s a load of them out there that were timed fills, which is just stupid, but most are now pressure switch controlled.
They can time it out the way as they know how much water is there and the flow rate of the pump, easy to work that one out.
Timed fill on the other hand, is entirely dependent on the BAR pressure of water coming in. 😉
