ParticipantHi all,
I have a Gorenje GV62110 dishwasher which was intermittently giving an E3 error code. Quite often simply powering off and on then restarting the cycle would resolve but this no longer seems to work.
User manual advises that this is a problem with the heating element or thermostat. Sometimes when the E3 code came there was still heat and steam when opening the door so this would lead me to believe the problem is with the thermostat – perhaps it is incorrect to assume this?
If it likely to be a thermostat problem can someone advise if this is a simple part to replace or if I would need a specialist?
Finally, the store doesn’t seem to have any Gorenje dishwasher parts. Maybe I’m missing something? Not sure if I’m allowed to post links, but have found a UK site which has a reasonably priced replacement ‘Sensor’ for this model.
Thanks in advance,

Most thermostats are under the machine and have two wires connected to them some are easy and some are a pain but can be done.
Just remember to turn the power off first.

So I opened the front and bottom of the machine up and couldn’t find the thermostat. I was under the assumption that the replacement part I bought would be identical to a part already in there.
Gave up hoking around aimlessly and put it back together. Powered on and ran an economy cycle just to check I hadn’t broken it further and it ran fine.
Guess it’s back to being intermittently faulty :rolls:

Hi
It will need a new pressure switch which has been modified, replacing the thermostat won’t cure the problem in the long run.

Hi Bryan,
Thanks for the reply but you’ve lost me; could you elaborate – why would a new pressure switch solve the E3 error, and modified in what way?
For what it’s worth, the dishwasher has been running without any problems the last few days – perhaps the fresh air did it some good 😉
Thanks,

Hi Eoin
For some reason the pressure switch fail’s and causes the error as it does not allow enough water into the appliance. Gorenje replaced thousands of these until I replaced every single part including the pressure switch and tried each repair on it’s own. even with every electrical part replaced the fault was still there but after watching the two units I had in and adding 1.5ltr of extra water the faults disappeared as the pump was able to have enough water to fully pump up to the top spray arm fully. Gorenje then replaced all stock of the pressure switch with a new one keeping the same part number,They didn’t exchange another after these was fitted.

In case of E3 there can be also a problem with pressure switch, heater, and washing pump – capacitor and if there are filters jammed or dirty with grease. In this case water can not normaly circulate and it comes to over heating, same case is when the washing pump is not working.
But like r600 said also the NTC sensor could be failed.February 21, 2013 at 11:00 am #389889kiazoe

Thanks guys; if (or rather, when) I start getting the E3 error again I’ll look at replacing the pressure switch.
Cheers,

Hi, re: intermitent E3 error. Is it the Pressure Switch Assembly For Heating Element ( http://www.gorenje-spares.co.uk/pressur … ry=gv62110 )which is the cause of this issue. Also where is this located, opened side panel (RHS) 2 pressure switches there? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Apologies for resurrecting my near-dead thread, but my E3 code returned and I’m now looking to attempt the repair (after spending much too long hand washing dishes!)
Is anyone able to comment on the above questions from Doyne?
