Customer said she always sets the fan oven stat to around 180c but noticed recently that “the light (to stat) was not going out” and things taking longer to cook. When i tested the oven it seemed to take a long time to get up to about 160c (about half an hour)and then struggled to get above that. The stat was cutting out but not above this tempreture. I tested the tempreture inside the oven and it did correspond to what the stat was showing. Cooling fan was operating so dont think thermal cut out was the problem. Just seems like element not getting hot enough but this does’nt make sense.

    Any ideas please?

    Thanks

I would be having a good look round for dodgy connections, also if you can measure the voltage it the input to the oven when turned on as it will show if there is a bad connection upstream of the oven.

IIRC this is a ‘fan assisted’ oven as opposed to a more modern fan oven and relies on top and bottom elements to work. So I would suggest you locate the duff element as your next move! 😉
