Got a problem with my fridge freezer (Hotpoint RFA52). I’m getting a lot of condensation on the back wall of the fridge part, which then freezes. The drip trays underneath the salad boxes regularly used to fill with water, but this time the water in them froze. I defrosted everything by leaving the fridge turned off for a couple of days and was then able to remove the blocks of ice from the drip trays, but after the fridge being turned on for a day the condensation started to freeze again.

Any ideas? Temp controller is on 1, which is the warmest.

The back wall is meant to freeze as its a wet wall fridge. It will go from a state of frozen to thawed a few times a day depending on door openings.

If your getting water in or under the salad draws the gutter drain hole at the back is blocked and needs cleaning.

When the water does settle at the bottom it can freeze as it does get down to around 0 at times down that low.

Yeah but it’s not thawing. I’ve had the fridge freezer for three years from new…it’s never behaved like this before. The drain hole was blocked and I cleared it and tested to make sure it was draining and it is. The fridge is freezing all my food…milk is frozen solid, as are eggs and all my vegetables.

Rite is the compressor (the black pump that make a noise) running continually ?
