ParticipantI have a Bosch SGS 4012GB/13 dishwasher.
I was having problems with it not washing properly, lots of dirty dishes and general muck inside, but after doing research, found that the drain pipes, (internal and external) and water level unit were full of crap, so I have cleaned these all out.
Now, however, I am having problems running the programme.
When the control knob is advanced to 1, the machine starts to fill, then empty a bit, then fill a bit and so on. This will continue ad infinitum, until you advance the control knob, it will then run through programme 1 until it gets to 2, (you can hear the timer clicking).
Then the same thing again at position 2 and also at position 3.
Could this be a control board/timer issue?
I am a little confused as when the timer is advanced, it runs the programme ok until it gets to the next stage in the programme, where it just sits there on fill/drain/fill/drain.February 13, 2013 at 4:44 pm #390087Martin

As you observe the filling process with the side panel off no doubt you will see the safety float bobbing up and down, switching the drain pump on and off is it? That being the case there is still a blockage not allowing water to flow freely into the tub.

Hi Martin, yes, (watching it now), float is bobbing up and down, however there is water in the dishwasher.
Any suggestions as to where to look for the blockage?February 13, 2013 at 5:20 pm #390089Martin

Have you removed and cleaned the corrugated transfer pipe between the tub and the float chamber?

I haven’t removed it, but it is clear, I have blown it through.

OK, looking back at the Pressure switch does the diaphragm pin operate the black plastic arm and operate the micro switch as more and more water enters the chamber?

Something else to look out for that if this model has a Jug Impeller Flow Meter then this may be the cause of your trouble.

Hi
You need to remove the transfer pipe to check for restrictions,it needs to be completely clear or water will not flow correctly.

No black plastic arm. The only arm I can see, is a red plastic arm, operated by the float.
This does go up and down, as the water enters the machine.
There is another arm, also red, that sits underneath this arm, possibly an anti-flood device.February 13, 2013 at 7:12 pm #390096Martin

I forgot, some are red not black….The RED arm in front of the round diaphragm is the one I refer to, that operates the inlet valve. The one on the lower right is the anti-flood one that operates the pump.

It’s just a push fit inside the pressure chamber unit and, likewise at the sump end. Pulls away to clean easily and can be refitted either way!

How do I access it under the sump?
Do I need to remove the bottom of the machine?February 13, 2013 at 7:25 pm #390100Martin
