    does anybody remember a whirlpool electronic gas hob. It had circuit boards inside that powered minature solenoids that adjusted the amount of gas going through-customers always complained of them being noisy due to the solenoids operating up to 10 times a second. what a pointless and expensive hob.
    They also made a cooker hood with a sensor sticking out of the front of it that sensed when it needed to operate-again pointless. Both these crazy ideas never really caught on!

    De Dietrich still do a touch control gas hob with solenoid control…….. Can’t see the point myself.
