ParticipantHi folks been to this today – drier switches off after 6 mins.
Suspect blocked condenser as water valve opperating and heater ok but not a particular strong airflow coming into tub. Removed fan asy and fan blades not particular blocked and top air ways look resonably clear although didn’t take heater box apart.
Never had blocked condenser before on a Bosch before and just wondered if they suffer from blocked condensers or is it more likley to be blocked elsewhere? Or anything else that I have missed before removing the condenser.
Looks a bit of a “beast” to take off down the bottom end – are there any tips on removing these or is it just grit your teeth and struggle?
Incidently the m/c came up with F17 prior to this problem – customer emptied the filter and no longer displays this anymore.
Comments and (nice)suggestions appreciated 😉 , Thanks
Mick

Yep blocked condenser. 🙁 Total pain in the bum to access……total crap built by Smeg…… :rolls:
But hey!….look at it this way, what does Smeg spell backwards? :clown:

Went back to this yesterday and was a blocked condenser.
What a nightmare to get to the screws and access on this. Half way through removing the condenser found all the blockage at the bottom of the condenser where it enter the tub. So managed to remove blockage without removing the condnser completly which saved removing the upside down screw third of the way down :rolls: . Using an old trusty bit of wire coat hanger with end bent to a hook, removed all the built up lint. Then made a tool to lip the hose back on the tub tube from a 4 inch piece of coat hanger wire and put a hook on the end of that which made what seemed an imposible job possible.
On tackling one of these again I think I would go straight to the hose at the bottom where the condenser goes into the tub and see if the blockage could be removed from there without taking the rest of the condenser off. Removing the 4 screws where it fits to the heater unit just allows a bit more flexability on the condenser and makes accessing the hole at the bottom slightly better.
Hope this helps anyone else who has one of these to do as it is obvious from the design the manifacturer has given no thought whatsoever to the condenser being removed with the tub in situe. :rolls:

The Manufacturer probably did think about & then thought what the hell, it won’t be our problem.

Ive been this week to a wvd24460gb/02 this week with F-17 fault I posted about yesterday. Got to go back Monday. I fetched the Condenser completely off, also removed the sump hose as there was a blockage there. Still giving an F-17 fault. Valve works ok, not going open circuit when been on. Starting to suspect pressure line fault now, although I have removed and cleaned.
When removing the sump hose youve got a white cover listed as none return valve on quick finder, fits above the eco-ball. Couldn’t see any directional tabs, this hasn’t got to be in any specific position has it? -
