    Hi

I seem to have a eurolec rf 006 fridge. Thanks to the info on this site I was able to identify the fridge and the potential part required. The problem I have is it would not cut off and continue to cool. drink cartons would freeze and veg would slightly frost. potatoes oddly went soft.

However the repair folk who I have involved have been utterly useless to date. They first claimed it was currys essentials (and brought a stat that wouldn’t fit) when it appears to be eurolec essentials instead. So far I am £70 down with nothing fixed.

The latest they claim is that it cant be fixed. the poked the back of the fridge and claimed the back surface should be immobile and shouldn’t press (make a dent). When I inquired whether its possible whether a stat from ukwhitegoods could fix this they wouldn’t dismiss it entirely either. incidentally the quoted a lot more from comet when I suggested its a eurolec fridge.

Anyways, my question is whether you think this is something that can be fixed. I know you haven’t seen it but I can give details as best as a layman can. I am not even sure if I can get my money back from them for not fixing this. They haven’t really diagnosed the issue in my opinion and have charged me for turning up and offering an unverified opinion on the fridge.

I am actually more inclined to get something from Neff/bosch at the moment.

    Thoughts?

should backwall remain still when pressed

A chap turned up to fix my fridge. Pressed the backwall at the top and said it moves. While the bottom when pressed was fine and didn’t move. He said that’s the reason my stat probably doesn’t work.

His conclusion is that this fridge can’t be fixed.

    Thoughts?

If it’s the insulation then no, in effect it is unrepairable.
