    Hello all,

I’m hoping someone can advise on a solution to this, sorry for the long description but I want to give the full details.

I unscrewed the filter from my hotpoint to check if anything was in there, it was empty. I screwed it back in again and put the washing machine on. The machine ran but then started a second cycle by itself. When I went into the kitchen the floor was flooded and the machine was leaking from the filter. I tried to turn it both ways but it wouldn’t budge so I used a pair of pliers, it did turn some but then the filter handle broke off and has left just a hole, none of the handle remains intact.

Does anyone please have any suggestions as to how I can remove the filter without any of the handle in place?

It is insured but now company are saying they want to take the machine away and it could be gone for up to 10 days with no guarentee they’ll fix it as I’m only insured for mechanical and and electrical failure and they say this doesn’t sound like either.

I’d rather not have to go without a machine for up to 3 weeks (Fault happened over the weekend and they haven’t given a date of when they plan to collect it yet). Lots of texts, a letter and an excess payment taken but no date as yet.

I’m hoping someone can help me out here.

    Many thanks

Why would they want to take it away, i’ve never taken a machine away to repair, by the sounds of it shouldnt be to difficult to repair.

The pump easily accessed from underneath.( Unplug power first) Fit a brand new pump purchased from HERE 😀
