ParticipantI have just installed a brand new ADP8342 dishwasher and tested with a rinse cycle which ran without any problems. However, when I try and run a full cycle the machine does the initial cold rinse, the extended wash, and I’m not sure about the rinses afterwards, but certainly seems to get to the drying stage, but then just runs and runs… and runs… and never seems to stop. Any ideas about what is happening?

ParticipantProbably not heating (or sensing temperature) – get them out to it – you’re under guarantee……

The machine definately heats the water up, washes the dishes and then drains afterwards, then produces steam (which I assume is the drying cycle), and it is at this point that it gets stuck. However, after an hour the machine and dishes are cool again.
Just a thought, but the fact that I have not yet put salt in the machine presumably doesn’t make a difference?
I have just phone Extracare and they have arranged an engineer for 10 day’s time. I feel that a brand new machine, just out of the box should work and not need repairing immediately.

Are you sure there’s actually anything wrong with it Rob ?
If the dishes are drying and then go cool it would indicate to me that it has in fact finished the cycle.
When you say it keeps running and running, what is ?
Dave.

Yeah, the machine runs for four hours (and longer if left) and when you open the door it beeps as if you have interrupted the cycle. If you close the door it goes back to working away. The machine continues to make a sort of pumping noise (although it is not the same noise that it makes when it drains or fills with water.

Definitely a fault there then by the sound of it.
It’s hopefully a simple remedy like an air lock or similar, possibly caused in transit or installation.
Let us know the outcome after the engineer has called please.
Dave.
