    Hi,
    I have an INDESIT IS70C SERIAL No. 709130051

    I have replaced the water pump and the micro switch, as the pump had stopped working and the switch sparked when operated so i thought it best to change it!

    At the moment the pump is operating all the time, the float switch only seems to operate the water light on the front. is this normal? It seems it would make more sense for the float switch to operate the pump so it doesn’t run all the time! but im not sure!!

    Any ideas appreciated,

    the pump runs all the time, when the water tank gets full the float rises and switches off the heater and turns on the water tank full light.

    Thanks for the speedy reply Bob,
    I just wanted to check how it works as I have the water pipe (Waste) running direct into the washing machine waste pipe, so in my case, the light will only come on if the pump stops working, is that right?
