ParticipantHi,
Our Neff oven door fails to close fully and so after reading the useful info on this site bought two new runners/receivers however its not clear at all how to gain access to replace them.
I have removed the oven from its housing. The back panel seems to be easy enough to remove, but i can’t get the sides or bottom off. I’m reluctant to force anything in fear of destroying the oven.
Does any one have step by step instructions for gaining access to the runners?
The model number of the oven is B1451N1GB/07
Thanks in advance
Rob

“Runners and receivers?” As a rule when the door fails to close fully only the sprung hinges need replacing and for that just remove the door.

Thanks for your reply. I actually replaced the hidges about 3 months ago which solved the problem initially but the problem has returned.
This is what I mean by runners:

Ah I see where you get the term runner from now. ESpares, robbing Herbert’s they are. Neff refer to them as ‘hinge bearings’ a term I’ve become familiar with having fixed Neff ovens since the mid 70’s. Be that as it may to fit them you have to take side, back and bottom panels off…..have fun! 😀

Do you have any hints on how to remove the side and bottom panels?

You might have to use a screwdriver. 😉

Ah I thought using a spatula wasn’t a good idea 🙂
Even after removing the side panel screws along the edges they seem unmovable and I see no obvious screws holding the bottom panel in place. Is it really as simple as removing all the screws or are there clips or something else holding it together?

Just screws, it is that simple a job.

Thanks for your replies.
Do i need to detach the box containing the digital display/controls?
Is it best to have the oven on its front to remove the panels?
Would you expect me to have to apply any force, or after the screws are removed the panels should come off quite easily?
(trying to assemble as many tips as possible before i have another go at this)

Tomlin, you are scaring us with all this questioning as it clearly paints a picture of a rank amateur that really has no clue. We have given you quite enough information in order this work be carried out by someone with sufficient electro/mechanical knowledge. Can I suggest therefore you get a local engineer in to fix it on your behalf as I really have your best interests at heart.

martin, your post is quite offensive actually. the suggestion that by simply asking questions to be as prepared as possible implies something about my competency is ridiculous. if you don’t have any thing more to contribute, then don’t post. I’m sure even you with your forty years experience of fixing appliances remembers the days when you knew less than you do now, it’s a shame you feel you can’t share your past experiences with others.

If that is the way you feel then you should really get someone in capable of doing the job, i am of the same opinion as martin, you have been given more than enough information to do the job and you obviously are not up to doing the job, so stop now before you wreck you oven completely.
