    Hi All

Don’t do much refrigeration and certainly can’t re-gas (need to find somewhere/someone to do some training) so this is more of an educational question.

I got called to see this unit unit today because the fridge was too cold (-17) but the freezer was fine, I have checked all three sensors and am getting decent readings through them, the fan runs fine as does the compressor – using the circuit diagram on the label in the fridge the only bit that doesn’t give me any reading through it is a “valve”, I initially thought that this must be some form of diverter valve (to choose between either the fridge or the freezer getting the cooling) but when I pulled the unit out I found that it appears to be plumbed in as some form of compressor bypass, therefore my question is what is the theory behind this valve – is it there to reduce the gas flow and produce slower cooling or what?

    Hi,

Any luck with this yet? I’ve come across exactly the same fault today although I didn’t get as far as testing continuity across the diverter. I notice that this and the control module come top of the list on a Connect Dist search.

Nearly always the pcb that is fitted to the diverter valve. You can sometimes get away with changing just the pcb over if not its a full system job.
