ParticipantLast two weeks I’ve been getting 7am texts and unreadable emails on the day of delivery from Connect via DPD. Have had to get my email and mobile number deleted as it seems the only way it can be stopped. The enigma emails I don’t mind (WTF is MIME code anyway :con: )but a text at 7…..I’d bol**k mates for texting me that early……never mind Connect!!

MIME Code: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIME
It’s an automated system they use that updates in real time, it doesn’t care what time it is.
But Tony, you could always put the phone on silent. 😉

Send an e-mail to whoever deals with you within Connect and ask for it to be stopped forthwith.
Worked for me.

I think it is a great system as I am always up by 6am.
It allows you to arrange an alternative delivery day if you have no one available to except delivery.
I also like the text at about 9am with the delivery time within a 1 hour window.
As ken said you can always put the phone on silent if you are expecting a delivery.

We get an email sent to confirm what time of the day DPD are going to deliver, great system,It means you can let customers know what time their spares are arriving.Wish the others would do the same.

I get texts and emails from both Connect and Qualtex, brilliant system and I don’t turn work mobile on until 8am. I can plan the day and I also get both companies to direct courier that parcels to be left at front door if I’m out. A bonus for living in a village where a late library book is a major news story.

I use connect primarily because of the delivery system. Didn’t know qualtex did the same so may give that a go.
Problem here is the DPD driver gives you 5 seconds to get to the door before he sprints off to deliver the other 100 parcels he has to get in before 5pm.
Can connect instruct DPD to drop off without a signature?February 27, 2013 at 8:38 pm #391121robbra

Yes Dave,
When the address comes up to deliver to, above the postcode I put “IF OUT LEAVE AT FRONT DOOR” and when first delivered I pointed out to the driver so he knew in future.
With Qualtex I phoned them and they insert it in the delivery address.
It works well for me.

Thank Rob. The wife will be happy now as she sits in the house waiting for them!

If I put the phone on silent I won’t get up….it’s my alarm ;-).
Plus, 91 year old mums contact phone so unfortunately it stays on constantly.February 27, 2013 at 11:06 pm #391124kwatt
