    Hello All

I have an AEG Competence B1180-4-M oven which has just failed during grilling.

    I’ve previously replaced this: http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/89966192 … an-control
And I believe that it is still ok since the instrument cooling fan was still on when the grill failed.

    Current symtoms are as follows:

    – clock/timer is on and functioning
    – when turning left dial to grill/oven/fan/etc, the indicator light on the panel comes on but the grill/oven fails to heat and the internal oven light and fan do not operate
    – when turning the right temp dial the light/indicator does not come on but I can hear the thermostat click as normal

Any ideas what might be wrong?

    Many thanks

    Matt

    Hi

Check the clock set to manual, if set to auto it will not work until a cook time is set.

Yes, I can verify it’s in manual. Have tested timer to make sure. Can hear relay click at end of timer, yet no heat before or after 🙁

Would a faulty fan/light/grill/element knock out the others too? Is there something central that would impact everything as described above?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve found there’s no continuity across grill element. Oven element is ok. Would a faulty grill element affect fans/light/oven?

Grill element isn’t cheap, so want to be confident that’s the only problem.

Is there any way to check this with an alternate wiring test?
