ParticipantHi,
I am new to this forum but hopefully someone will be able to help.
I have just bought a secondhand Bosch Classixx dishwasher as our old one packed up. I transported it home and installed in our kitchen, however, as soon as I turn it on it trips the main consumer unit in the house. I have tried the usual stuff as changed plug and fuse but I still have the same problem.
I read that somewhere there may be a flood protection so I have turned it upside down to drain any residual water, but still no luck.
The dishwasher looks to be in good condition and sold as fully working, I don’t believe it has had a lot of use. The serial number is sgs43a52gb/35, and was subject to a recall which shows a blue sticker with a letter R on it.
If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it, as I now have two broken dishwashers in our kitchen taking up a lot of space!Regards,
Duncan

Oh dear, turning a dishwasher upside down is a no no, that does more harm than good. As for blowing the RCD then it literally could be anything being as it has never worked since you got it. Closer inspection required to establish the source of the trouble which would involve removing the front inspection panel for starters. Did this machine come with any guarantee or have you bought it on the off-chance it might be a runner?

Thanks for the quick reply. There is no guarantee with it, but I am assured it was fully working beforehand, but I only have the guys word for that.
Where is the front panel? I see there is a plastic cover on the part beneath the front door but I can’t see how to remove it? I checked where the cable enters the machine but that is all like new and all the connections are dry and clean.
I’m at a loss what to check next, I don’t really want to throw any more money at it.March 10, 2013 at 12:19 pm #391786Martin

There is a Torx head screw each side of the bottom kick panel that needs removing first. Also removing the lid and side panel will expose all the workings sufficient to check and trace any fault. Good luck!

I have solved it thanks, I removed about ten screws to remove the front door panel and reveal the wiring behind the switches. There was a brown wire which had been cut for some reason and wasn’t protected, I guess while moving the dishwasher the wire has moved and was touching something and shorting out. It is now working ok.
Thanks for your help. -
