    Hi all,

Hope someone can help me with the below.

Bought the above double oven (ex display) a few months ago. Finally got around to fitting it today, and having problems with it tripping the consumer unit RCD.

It’s hard wired into a 32 amp cooker circuit. The main (bottom) fan oven works without fault.

However, the top convection oven is causing issues. As soon as the multifunction oven is set to top oven, and the thermostat turned, the power trips. If the multifunction switch for the top oven is turned to “0” from being on (thermostat set to zero, again, off trips the power.

It’s been suggested it may be the oven element, so disconnected the spade connectors to the element – oven still trips off when multifunction switch turned, but power stays on otherwise.

Disconnecting spade connectors to thermostat AND oven element. Multifunction switch is fine, and power stays on when top oven selected ??!!??

Totally confused, but thinking it must either be the thermostat or the oven element.

Any input would be greatly appreciated …

It is pretty likely an element is at fault though disconnecting terminals and switching on again is not good practice. Power off, supply isolated then test each element in turn with a meter. Or better still get a local independent repairer in to sort it for you! 😀
