Can any one suggest the most likely reason for the following symptoms. Occasionally the dryer heating light is off and it is not heating, but if I give it a thump the light comes back on and dries. Is it just a loose connection or should I be replacing some component. I am not an engineer but I am willing to take it apart and replace things if I know what to look for. I am surprised that a thump seems to get it going.

    Thanks In Advance (Graham)

Faulty ‘Dryness Module’ relay contact, often only a new module rectifies.:(

I see the part £104, is there any way just to replace the relay?
    Rather than the whole unit???

I have not heard of anyone having success with repairs to this pcb. One of the main repairers of pcb’s does not repair this pcb, something about finding the processor corrupted.:(

Thanks, I had a go at taking the unit out and looking at the relays, they are RT314024 and 2x RT114024, which seem easy enough to source, I think I’ll have a go at pulling them off the board and replacing them. Should be a fun project for over Easter. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Nicely done, just goes to prove that if you don’t try you don’t get.
