Hi, I have a WD860 Hotpoint that is filling with water while unused.
It takes about 48 hours to reach the door seal so it’s a slow fill. It’s not siphoning from the standpipe. Isolating the hot intake doesn’t stop it so it appears to be the cold intake. It’s operating fine (cough) in other respects.
Is there a probable culprit I should take a look at first for this type of fault, eg the inlet valve/solenoid? 😕
Isolated the cold about 30 hours ago. No sign of water in drum yet. Was wondering if there are any other causes that I should eliminate before ordering a replacement valve.
Some of the Hot & Cold fill models of this machine use two different cold valves, a 3 way or a 4 way valve. You need to pop the lid off to find out which one it has fitted.
3 way valve is a C00140837 HERE
4 way valve is a C00202788 HERE
Many thanks. You’re absolutely right, weepy valve. Have popped the bonnet, removed the 4-way valve and I can blow air through it. Seems to be the red valve that directly feeds the rear of the drum.
Will place an order for the C00202788.
I’ve visited UKWhitegoods several times over the years when an appliance has gone awry and always found the answer and the right part. Thanks again!
