Also known as a Nextra 6.
Hi all. Got a weird problem with this w/dryer.
Basically it won`t start…..most of the time.
On arrival the push button assembly had been pushed out of the inst panel caused by over pressing to get it to start. so I tried a new inst panel board and it worked. Recalled 2 days later, still no go just the usual ready to go flashing light. Ordered new board with button cluster and fitted that. Bingo, tested it 3 times on various progs worked a treat, then tested it on t/drying for 10 mins and cancelled the programme again. Reset the p/selector knob to pump out only, as also previously tried, and it would not start again. No amount of pressing, door closing would get the poxy thing to re start, except once when it did. Doing my head in this thing. I have changed the motor brushes ( nearly worn out but not quite), the i/lock, checked the prog /selector and of course the inst panels pcb as already mentioned.
Any one of you Hoover chaps know the answer please, I`m well stuffed at the moment for ideas. Thanks.

As you probably know the LED flashing counts an error code, so when you first called back to this what was the error code?

Hi Martin. yes that was what I thought. However I counted up to 30 flashes and then decided it was not a fault code! And just to be sure I left and watched the red square light for 2 minutes- it just flashes awaiting instructions. i.e. it was not a f/code.

The motorised selector switch could well be the issue here I’m thinking.

Hi there is no motorized selector switch on this machine. What there is is HVR9201332 a rotary selector switch. Have thought it might be that but the m/swt part of it seems ok, the 2 red wires that plug in to it also….well i`m not sure what they do to be honest.
Tried woggling wires, if you remove the main wires that plug in to this switch then there is no power to light up the inst panel pcb…so it would seem that the rotary selector is doing something at least. But……!!!
    Any ideas please??

Doh! nil point. No not the selector but was the ribbon connection on the main power module- gone copper green corrosion-drat and double drat! And ruined the module connector too. Bugger! Called it a day by agreement.
Thanks for your suggestions though. Great site is this.
