ParticipantCalled to a neff built-in micro with shattered inner glass.
Ordered and ftd glass.
Fault code e10. Internal fuse blown .. fitted. Now its showing a E1 fault.
Microwave works (heats water) for up to 10 seconds then displays E1 temperature sensor fault. Now … Broken inner glass had carbonised bit on edge before shattering. Whats the expert opinion on what has failed. I presume the glass has broken due to the carbonised bit flaring up and overloading something, and blowing the internal fuse .. and in the process, damaging a sensor somewhere?? I cant find any info on this model.
Mag cut-out and two cut-outs on top are ok, and as I mentioned, it does microwave for a short time.
Thanks. Dennis
Hopefully someone will know. Thanks.March 26, 2013 at 1:33 pm #392683clayside

Had similar fault on same model oven, found the glass had carbonised between glass and inner frame ( looked like very small chip in door frame enamel) replaced frame part no 444512.
This was in September and machine still working ok. Don’t know why it shows sensor fault (mine did as well ) but it cleared fault.
After I fitted glass and sensor fault was active found when microwave was on during the 10 seconds if you looked you could see arching on edge of glass at times where chip was. Hope this helps.March 27, 2013 at 9:56 am #392684den

Thanks for the reply. If I’m reading this properly .. The sensor fault showed after fitting glass only. Fault clearing after fitting the frame part ?
I have been googling re this fault, and it seems to be quite common. Glass breaking, then discovering internal fuse blown.
After replacing fuse, some work –some dont. All further google advice becomes guesswork. Most suggestions being Mag or inverter, so problem is never solved because micro is junked because of cost.
Never saw any sparking during the few seconds it was on, but I will contact cust and get him to try it in the dark. Thanks . Den

Recieved info for someone that when the mag goes faulty on this model , it breaks the glass and sometimes takes out the inverter.
The problem is, Originally the customer phoned me, saying he needed an inner glass. gave me full model details, so I just ordered and fitted the glass, before trying it and finding the micro faulty.
I have charged him for the work+part (part not cheap) and now its just an expensive ornament because he probably wont want to pay for the mag and invertor.
Its never easy …is it? -
