Hi,
I wonder if anyone can offer some advice.
Oven information:
– Make=Neff
– E-nr U1721N2GB/01Symptom:
– Main oven not heating up; i.e. zero temperatureObservations:
– Light in oven works
– Oven temperature switch lights up
– Humming noise is heard from oven
– Fan is NOT turning under its own power
– when the fan is turned by hand it sounds like it is scuffing something; i.e. like a scuff then pinging noise every quarter turnQuestions:
– Is fan operation linked to the element or do they work independently?
– Is there an easy way to test the fan and element?I’ve the element and fan cover removed and am willing to get the oven out and attack it with the multi-meter if anybody needs more information.
I.e. I have the tools but not the knowledge 😉Any help would be much appreciated.

Both the fan and the fan element need replacing from your description. Both work independently of one another. Usually the element fails more so than the fan though.

The reason I’d not recommend the really cheap one is that they do have a nasty habit of failing after a short period of time. Several of the engineers have had issues with them as well as spare suppliers.
