ParticipantI am new to the modern tunble drier so please be patient with me. I have just purchased an Indesit IDCE8450B and completed two drying cycles without a problem. Today I tried to use the machine for drying shirts and set it on what I thought was the right programme. After a while there was a fault indicated [F01]. The handbook [HB] didn’t say what this meant but by going onto the Indesit web site I found it meant that the programme selected was wrong for the time allowed.
By that time I had cleaned the filter, emptied the water container (as done previously after each cycle). I was also advised by the HB to clean the ‘heat pump filter’ but I was unable to find any other reference to this part in the HB. What is it —where is it?
I reduced the amount of shirts to two and reselected the programme to 6 [Cotton Hanger] and switched on again. After less than a minute the F01 showed again and I have not been able to find a programme that doesn’t cause that fault to show.
I know I must be doing something wrong but I don’t know what.
The so called ‘Technical Assistance Centre’ at the phone number given in the HB doesn’t seem to exist and in any case the waiting time at that number (due to exceptional demand) is endless.

In your first example I think you overloaded it and in the second underloaded it. The latter (Cotton Hangar) is designed for up to maximum loading and just a couple of shirts therefore represents underloading for the intended programme and hence the F1 error display. Perhaps the ‘Eco Cotton’ a better selection to make in this case?
Indesit customer service? The fact it takes hours to get through speaks volumes about the product.
Heat Pump Filter? Misprint, your machine does NOT have a heat pump drying system.

You don’t mention cleaning the condensor, something that you should do every week or so depending upon use.
Although it often shows a picture of someone pouring a jug of water through the condensor that is a waste of time. It needs removing and flushing out under a tap, an outside hose or a pressure washer is better still.
