Hello. I have a HOMARK 700406 double oven, approximately 14 years old.
There is a problem with the top oven whereby it tends to burn any food that is cooked.
It seems to provide more heat than what has been set on the temperature selector switch, yet the red light cycles on and off to indicate the theromostat is functioning.
I have removed the oven to check the top element which is okay. The instruction manual mentions an element at the base of the top oven, this is inaccessible without dismantling the oven, if this has blown, could twice the current be passing through the top element.
Also, I replaced the fan oven element last year, this has now burnt out again, needing another £35 element.
Is a repair/engineer visit worth it? Or should I just buy a new oven ?
Any advice appreciated.
Thankyou.
