    Hello,
I’m new to the forum and would very much appreciate some helpful advice on how to track down and fix the fault on this washer that my son has handed to me to look at, convinced I can fix it.well I can’t, as I do not know where to look or how to problem solve washing machines. Symptoms are drum does not rotate, it makes a clicking noise as the drum tries its best to turn but cannot, I have looked at forum pages that mention similar faults but, can anyone tie this fault down for me so I am not looking here, there and everywhere aimlessly..
    Thanks in advance.AS

Seems so,had back off today after taking pipes from the plumbing and draining the water from the drum into a basin. I note with back off the drive belt between motor and drum is intact and looks in good condition..

Ok your next step would be to carefully remove & check the motor brushes, they may well be worn down.

Thank you for your quick reply-So sorry to mislead you. I have subsequently found the drum rotates quarter turn then sticks hard, until I turn it hard again, then it rotates another quarter turn and sticks again.I’m assuming this would put a different reflection on things, please help.

Going to get a professional opinion as I think with what I have read on this site that the bearings have gone, and if so, the washer is probably useless..
