Hi I’m hoping for a bit of advice on my Hotpoint FFA 60 fridge freezer. The freezer has just stopped working, the red high temperature light is on and no matter what setting I turn the dial to it doesn’t get any colder. The fridge part seems to be working fine.
The unit itself is about 8 years old so I suppose it doesn’t owe me anything and has been stored upright in a relatives garage for around 18 months. I’ve just moved house, so I cleaned the appliance out and left it to stand for a couple of days before turning it on. It seemed to be working fine initially, the high temp light went out and things were fine until this morning when the above happened.
There are no signs of damage and the compressor unit at the rear of the freezer is luke warm but thats all.
Any ideas folks, or is it new freezer time….?
