    Hi,

I have a hotpoint WM64P which needs a new motor but I’m confused over which one it needs as I’ve seen references to analogue & digital motors, GDA & FHP motors, conversion kits, etc. ll related to this model 🙁

The machine is quite old. Serial number 68157067. The motor has ‘A.C. MOTOR Type 904/1158/10’ written on it. The machine timer control is a mechanical type which is fixed to a PCB.

Anyone know what part number(s) I need for the motor replacement?

    Thanks, Jon

    Old, thats not old.

It’s a digital machine, motor is a C00118057. It is supposed to need a fixing kit but if you snip off the small lugs on the motor plug then CAREFULLY make a note of which connectors in the plug go to the tacho and ensure that these go to the tacho on the new motor you do not need the kit.

TBH I very rarely fit a new motor to one with the old type GDA motor. I always fit a new armature and gen brushes, armature still available from Qualtex, part number ARM20.

    Jim.

Many thanks Jim, that’s a really helpful answer. Hadn’t even considered you could change the armature. Much appreciated.

    Cheers, Jon

I always carry one, still change two or three a month. Sometimes it will have blown the themal cut out, also available from Qualtex, a TOC17.
